Japanese journalists visit the Open Factory
In April 2012 a group of Japanese journalists visited the TATONKA production plant Mountech Co. Ltd. in Ho Chi Minh City, to take a look at working conditions and see for themselves the quality of the products manufactured there. The feedback was very positive – the Japanese lifestyle magazine “Go Out” has now reported on the visit of the press.
Since March 2011 interested outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world are able to take a look at production for the outdoor specialist TATONKA, where they obtain all the information on the individual stages of production leading to the finished products – our popular rucksacks, tents, clothing and other outdoor equipment. Previous visitors have shown surprise at the technical structure of the sewing lines and at the great number of individual steps necessary to provide the ready packed finished products. Some of these manufacturing stages, for example, fitting the pads into the shoulder or hip belts, have to be carried out very carefully by hand. Other production steps on the other hand, require the use of highly specialized machines.
